'Flooded' With News

If you couldn't guess by the title, this week has been chaotic. I'm sure many of you have had weeks similar. On top of the many appointments and daily chores everyone has to do when they live in their own property, we had a flood.

The washing machine decided it wanted to clean the floor whilst I was in the bath :) As my partner was at work, it was up to me to clean all the water up. Needless to say, the next hour or two of my life was filled with sensory overloads... but at least the floor is now clean. I felt like I was in the Conjuring; hoping a hand doesn't surface from the water and grab my ankle XD. All jokes aside, you would be glad to know it has all been sorted now (after my partner came home - no way am I being blamed for breaking the washing machine XD).

One 'appointment' we had was a house viewing. As we are living in temporary accommodation, we have to look for a new home. The house we viewed was nice and I'm hoping we get it. It is close to my mum and has a spare bedroom we can make into a study/ art studio. On top of that, it has... wait for it... an oven that is above the worktop. How crazy is that? It will be much easier for me to cook. bending down is often very painful and not always achievable. But with this, I can cook with ease. It's the little things in life.

The house also has a large bedroom, which is amazing compared to the box room we are living in at the moment. We can also get a double bed, instead of two singles pushed together. Not to mention the bathroom; it is tiled and modernly styled. However, the number of mirrors the previous tenant had slightly concerns me. And the very large mirrors on the wardrobes terrify me a little. I can see myself waking up during the night to get a drink, seeing myself reflected and almost having a heart attack.

I'm glad there are no mirrors on vanilla Minecraft. I would probably be too freaked out to pick up the controller. I can just see Herobrine staring back at me when I look into it. That shows my age, huh? I bet many of you who play Minecraft have no idea who Herobrine is. I've been building a village in my latest world. I took inspiration from the Divergent series and built two factions from blue and red/purple wooden planks from the nether. I don't think I have ever had so much trouble trying to get the blue wood from the nether in my life. I died over 15 times trying to get the first two trees because of rapidly spawning magma cubes, not to mention the hoglins. I'm so glad I don't need to gather any more of it.

The next thing I needed to do was find a village and bring the villagers over. Four dead villagers later and a long, frustrating journey and two villagers were brought over and have now populated the red/purple faction. Never again. Why are villagers so stubborn? All I wanted them to do was go to the job block. Unfortunately, they obviously had other plans.

What do you like or dislike about Minecraft? And do any of you have any advice about moving house? Please tell me in the comments.

Stay safe and stay well, Jace.
